Una empresa estadounidense, Intelligent Optical Systems, ha desarrollado una «linterna» para cegar y aturdir. Podría ser útil para las fuerzas de la ley y evitaría el uso de sistemas eléctricos.
Según Lieberman, la única manera de evitar esto es girándose o cerrando los ojos, lo cual otorga la ventaja al usuario del Incapacitador LED. Los efectos inmediatos del aparato son encandilamiento y molestia por la luz brillante que pulsa, a esos síntomas los siguen desorientación y nausea.
El Incapacitador LED funciona emitiendo pulsaciones a frecuencias especiales, además de ir variando el color y frecuencia para lograr el efecto completo.

El incapacitador led parece una buena forma de defensa ante un delincuente pero quisiera saber si este tipo de aparato es de facil acceso ya que puede estar restringido para usos policiales o militar osea seria genial que cada persona pueda adquirir este tipo de tecnologia para usarlo como arma de defensa an un tipo de asalto menor, es decir que el delincuente no posea un arma de fuego, ademas en nuestro pais ¿ya esta en uso este tipo de tecnologia? ademas que otros efectos mas produce a parte de los ya mencionados
esta nueva tecnología es menos conocida y al parecer después de investigar un poco en nuestro país no se utiliza esta tecnología pues por esa misma razón en mi blog la he publicado para que también forme parte del menú de opciones a tomar en cuenta para nuestra seguridad y su efecto principal es poner en aturde a la víctima así la policía podría actuar de forma más tranquila y sin riesgo de que haya muertes penosas como por ejemplo de un rehén sólo quedaría aturdidos y el victimario sería atrapado con más facilidad
